A little about Ayarah and, what we do
Ayarah’s mission is to educate and inspire people on how to live a happy, full, plant-based lifestyle. We do this by teaching hands-on cooking classes and workshops covering all aspects of plant health and nutrition. The ideas, the how-to, and the why!
Ayarah is moving to Margaret River to a beautiful farm set right on the banks of the famous Margaret River. It has over 1.5km of riverfront for guests to enjoy. Or better yet, grab one of our kayaks and go for a paddle as far as you like down the river.
Our property over the next few years will take on a 3 to 5-acre lot for veggies, fruit trees, and a relaxation area for our guests to enjoy. We have one main building which is being renovated for the new cooking classes to take place in. This overlooks the river, natural bush, and farm land. As well as two beautiful chalets located within 100 meters of the river which guests can stay in.
These have luxury furnishing, outdoor spas, showers, and bbq areas as well as a fire pit for winter months. The Chalets are fully fenced so your fur babies can run around free to play and explore.
We are also going to have a mini barn with goats, ducks, chickens, sheep, cows, a pony or two, and maybe a llama. This will be an area you and your family can come pat and interact with the animals.
My husband and I are huge animals lovers and have four incredible huskies, Murray, Mouse, Prawn, and Chook. Animals are a huge part of our life and we look forward to sharing our passion with you and your loved ones.
Ayarah’s cooking classes and workshops are were held in the stunning Roleystone hills. The private cooking studio was perched on top of the hill overlooking the stunning valleys. With some of Perth’s best views. Ayarah quickly became rated as one of Perth’s best cooking schools. And Perth’s best Vegan cooking school, within a short period of time.
I know that Ayarah will soon be one of the hotspots in Margaret River for people to come to cook, learn and enjoy our beautiful property.
Ayarah is 100% vegan and follows a plant-based lifestyle for ethical, environmental, and health reasons.
Ayarah is a huge supporter of animal shelters and wildlife trusts around the globe. Profits from classes are used to help support these incredible companies helping save and rehabilitate animals back into the wild.
Hello, My name is Raya Higgs, owner, and chef of Ayarah.
From as early as I can remember, I have always been in the kitchen watching mum make food. She would always just throw together ingredients in a big bowl and everything would always taste great!
I have always loved experimenting in the kitchen, as early as I can remember.
My vegan lifestyle started through my bodybuilding journey, in 2015. I switched to an all-vegan lifestyle for ethical reasons. After just a few months I saw a huge improvement in my own health and my husband’s. I knew this was the new path for me.
Embarking on a healthier lifestyle and never looking back. Eating more, being healthier and better-balanced
On a mission to inspire others, I started with Matthew Kenney’s vegan culinary school and quickly found my passion for food and life was here! After 3 years of training, I opened Ayarah to educate and inspire others with plant-based food and nutrition.
Every person I meet who is interested in a vegan lifestyle always asks me the same question first… But what do I eat? This is where Ayarah can help, from loads of flavour-packed recipes, interactive cooking classes, we have you covered. Ayarah is your one-stop go-to for vegan food, health, and inspiration.
Ayarah is also a proud sponsor of The Kangaroo Sanctuary and The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Africa
The Sheldrick was born from one family’s passion for Kenya and its wilderness, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was established more than 40 years ago and is best known for its Orphans’ Project, the first and most successful elephant orphan rescue and rehabilitation program in the world. The Sheldrick Trust is a pioneering conservation organization, dedicated to the protection of wildlife and the preservation of habitats in East Africa.
